This list displays a rating for the tendency of the ingredients to clog pores, which may cause acne.

All acne lesions start with clogged pores, which are called comedones.
Comedogenicity is a scientific term that describes the potential of a
substance to cause comedones. Using a comedogenic ingredient means there is
a greater likelihood of experiencing clogged pores if you are predisposed to getting
clogged pores.

However, you may be able to use something like coconut oil without issue – even if you are prone to getting clogged pores. You will need to try it out.

The scale is from 0-5 with 5 being the MOST comedogenic.
